Have it your way: Bartender Trisha Yearwood loves her fans’ variations on Summer in a Cup

Williams-SonomaMemorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer, and weather permitting, lots of Americans will spend the holiday lounging by the pool or the lake with an adult beverage.  That’s where Trisha Yearwood comes in.

The two-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and culinary guru created her mixer, Summer in a Cup, specifically for occasions like this. In fact, her concoction has been so successful, there’s now a second variation available from Williams Sonoma.

Trisha’s original version is flavored with tangerine, cherry and pineapple. “I usually make Summer in a Cup with a little bit of vodka and a splash of 7-Up,” she explains. “That’s my signature way to make Summer in a Cup.”

The new Summer in a Cup Aloha mixes the flavors of pineapple, orange and banana. Trisha says her fans are always coming up with variations on their own, too.

“I love hearing from people different ways they’ve made it,” she goes on. “And I’ve learned from them, you know, a splash of Prosecco is really nice. It’s perfectly good with just a little splash of something like 7-Up…a little fizz…even club soda. Keep those ideas comin’! I love it!”

The “How Do I Live” hitmaker also did a holiday version of the mixer called Christmas in a Cup. You can find Trisha’s products both online or in Williams Sonoma stores.

Now that she and husband Garth Brooks are taking a little break from the road, the Georgia native is busy working on her first full studio album since 2007.
