Travis Tritt joins judging panel for new TV singing competition “Real Country”

David A. Beloff/Getty ImagesTravis Tritt is the latest country artist to sign on as a judge for the upcoming TV singing competition, Real Country. He joins previously announced judges Jake Owen and Shania Twain; Shania will also serve as executive producer of the show.

“I’ve been influenced by so many amazing country artists in my career, and the key to longevity is using those influences as inspiration to become something unique,” Tritt says in a statement.

“I’ve never been shy about how I feel about country music, so I can’t wait to join Real Country to share my experiences and thoughts. Like I always say…if you don’t want my opinion, don’t ask me a question.”

The singing competition will premiere in the fall of 2018 on USA Network and will have the three judges helping to select the most promising country artists in the nation for their chance at stardom.

Artists hoping for their big shot can sign up to audition for the show via RealCountry.CastingCrane.com. The deadline for submissions is June 18.
