ABC/Lou RoccoThere are six new Dolly Parton songs on the way, all from the soundtrack of the new movie, Dumplin’.
The Country Music Hall of Famer worked on the new music with Linda Perry, who produced the album and wrote the score for the film. Perry, former leader of the band 4 Non Blondes, is no stranger to working with A-list talent, having written “Beautiful” for Christina Aguilera, “Get the Party Started” for Pink, and “”What You Waiting For?” for Gwen Stefani.
So far, it hasn’t been revealed when the movie or the soundtrack will be released. Jennifer Aniston and Danielle MacDonald star in the film about a young girl who overcomes stereotypes by taking inspiration from Dolly’s music.
This week, Dolly was honored at the 60th SoCal Journalism Awards Gala in Los Angeles for her work with both the Imagination Library and the Smoky Mountains Rise telethon.
