CMAWednesday night, during the annual three-hour prime time CMA Fest ABC TV special, the Country Music Association launched its new “It Starts with M.E.” campaign.
In this case, “M.E.” stands for music education, the cause for which the annual CMA Fest in Nashville raises money. Artists donate their time to play the event, so the CMA Foundation can donate all the proceeds to music education.
Throughout the coming months, you’ll see your favorite artists sharing their personal stories of how music education helped shape their lives. In the video that launched the campaign, Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina, Kelsea Ballerini, and Old Dominion discuss music education’s impact on them, and share some pretty adorable childhood photos along the way.
You can check out the video on Instagram, and find out more about the initiative at ItStartsWithMe.org.
