BMGTwo decades after the release of her classic, multi-platinum album, White Christmas, Martina McBride is back with a second volume. It’s the Holiday Season is set to come out October 19.
The nine-song collection was recorded at the historic Capitol Studio in Los Angeles and at McBride’s own Blackbird Studio in Nashville.
“It’s been exactly 20 years since I released White Christmas,” Martina reflects. “With that album, I wanted to make it classic and something that would stand the test of time, which I feel like it has done. I wanted to accomplish the same thing with It’s The Holiday Season, but with a different feel.”
“So I decided to make most of the album with a big-band swing vibe that takes you back to the [Frank] Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald records,” she continues. “We recorded more of the pop Christmas numbers that lend themselves to that kind of feel.”
The four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year will also put out her second cookbook this fall. Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life will be released October 30.
