Al Pereira/WireImageFaith Hill will represent the world of country music next Friday, August 31 at the funeral of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
Shortly after the death of the 76-year-old last week from pancreatic cancer, Faith shared a photo of herself with the legend, along with her sentiments about the music legend.
Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, and Jennifer Hudson are set to perform at the homegoing service as well, along with gospel greats Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Yolanda Adams, and many more.
The Celebration of Life will take place at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, but is only open to family, friends, and invited guests.
The public will be able to pay its respects to Aretha next Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Another visitation will follow on Thursday, August 30 from noon to 4 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church.
Fun fact: Faith’s second #1 hit, “Piece of My Heart,” was originally recorded by Aretha’s sister, Erma Franklin.
