ABC/Image Group LAFlorida Georgia Line was scheduled to host their inaugural festival on Saturday but Mother Nature had different plans. FGL Fest was canceled just hours before it was set to take place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana.
In a joint statement released by the race track and Live Nation, it was revealed that the event would be canceled following torrential rain in the area. Additionally, the statement says that fans who bought passes for the festival can receive refunds where they originally purchased their tickets.
“We deeply regret to announce that today’s FGL Fest at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been canceled,” the statement reads. “This decision was made after a comprehensive review of current and forecasted weather conditions, and with the safety of event attendees as our top priority.”
In addition to headliners Florida Georgia Line, Cole Swindell, RaeLynn, Nelly, Jillian Jacqueline, Mason Ramsey, Stephanie Quayle and Riley Green were set to take the stage.
Not to worry, though: Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley hint that their festival may return.
“We’re so bummed this happened today to FGL Fest,” the band shares on Twitter. “Unfortunately the weather wouldn’t permit us to play and we’d never want to put the fans in any danger. Love y’all, we’ll be back. -T and BK.”
