ABC RadioJake Owen’s new single is called “Down to the Honkytonk,” and that’s exactly where he’ll be headed next month, as he helps Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge celebrate its 58th anniversary.
The world famous honky-tonk will once again celebrate its birthday with a massive, star-studded free show in the middle of the Nashville district known as Lower Broadway. Randy Houser, Terri Clark, Travis Tritt, Eddie Montgomery, Darryl Worley and Kid Rock are just some of the big names set to take the stage on Wednesday, October 10.
Located just steps away from the back door of the historic Ryman Auditorium, the bar, originally owned by the legendary Tootsie Bess, was famous for being filled with Opry stars when the Grand Ole Opry show originated from downtown. Tootsie herself was also beloved for supporting down-on-their-luck musicians like Willie Nelson, Mel Tillis and Bobby Bare.
