Lee Ann Womack will pick up ASCAP’s Golden Note ahead of this year’s CMA Awards

ABC/Mark LevineLee Ann Womack will be honored with the Golden Note Award this fall at the ASCAP Country Music Awards, handed out annually by the performing rights organization ASCAP.

Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Alan Jackson are just some of the artists who’ve gotten the honor in the past. This year’s 56th annual gala will take place on Monday, November 12 in downtown Nashville, in the days leading up to the 2018 CMA Awards.

Lee Ann’s most recent album is last year’s critically-acclaimed The Lonely, the Lonesome, and the Gone. The 2001 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year is perhaps best known for her crossover smash from the year prior, “I Hope You Dance.”
