MCA NashvilleJosh Turner will release his first-ever gospel album on October 26, titled I Serve a Savior.
The South Carolina native says it’s a dream come true, and something his fans have been requesting for a long time.
“My faith is the most important thing to me,” Josh explains. “I want people to hear the sentiment and heart behind this record.”
“I want them to feel the same inspiration that I felt,” he continues. “I want them to feel that and hopefully they’ll make these songs a part of their life.”
The dozen-song collection includes hymns, classics and live recordings of Josh’s hits “Long Black Train” and “Me and God.” It also features a new song, titled “The River (of Happiness),” written by Josh’s wife, Jennifer, and their oldest son, Hampton. Jennifer and their four sons all join Josh on the tune.
“It’s an uplifting song,” Josh says. “And having Jennifer and the boys singing on it drives that home.”
The album will also be accompanied by a 90-minute live DVD hosted by gospel legend Bill Gaither.
You can check out a behind-the-scenes video of the project and watch a live performance of the title track on YouTube now.
