ABC/Craig SjodinLuke Bryan is set to kick off the CMA Awards as the first artist to perform on Wednesday’s broadcast. The singer revealed that he’ll take the stage for a spirited rendition of his current single, “What Makes You Country.”
Luke’s performance will include some very special guests to share the stage.
“When we began talking about this performance I thought this would be a perfect time to share the stage with a few deserving artists who may not otherwise have an opportunity to be a part of the show,” Luke says in a statement. “This genre is full of talented performers doing what makes them country and this is the perfect song to let them step in the spotlight to be seen and heard by the millions tuning in.”
Luke is a five-time CMA Awards winner and the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, for which he’s nominated again this year.
The CMA Awards air on ABC Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
