Carrie Underwood warns her quick changes may be slow this year, while Brad Paisley’s prepared with plenty of pregnancy jokes

ABC/Image Group LAThroughout a decade of hosting the CMA Awards, Carrie Underwood‘s become famous for her numerous, memorable wardrobe changes. But since she’s expecting a baby this year, Carrie admits she’s not exactly sure how it’s gonna go.

“Those quick changes might be slow changes this year,” she jokes. “But yeah, I’d say wardrobe has got their work cut out for them this year.”

Carrie agrees there’s some possibility she may not wear quite as many dresses as she has in years past.

“I’m not sure,” she tells ABC Radio. “I’ve kinda done my initial round [of fittings], and it’s basically whatever I can zip up. So we’ll see.”

The Oklahoma native hosted once before when she was pregnant, leading up to the birth of her son Isaiah nearly four years ago.

Just as before, Carrie’s co-host, Brad Paisley, has already given her notice that baby humor is definitely on the table.

So is there any possibility Brad might go too far?

“There’s always a big chance!” Carrie laughs.

“Yeah, those are Vegas odds you wanna take right there!” Brad agrees.

“The thing about us,” Carrie says, turning serious, “I feel like… we can laugh at ourselves and definitely make fun of ourselves, first and foremost. But we don’t ever want to offend anybody, you know.”

“Just ourselves,” Brad adds, before offering an example of how he might go too far.

“We should just change out bumper stickers on it…” he suggests, referring to Carrie’s baby bump. “We could sell that space.”

“Ad space…” Carrie says, getting on board with the joke. “Put this kid through college!”

You can tune in to witness Brad’s antics and Carrie’s costume changes Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, as the 52nd Annual CMA Awards air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on ABC.
