ABC/Image Group LA A lucky group of British fans got to hear Maren Morris’s sophomore album for the very first time this week.
“Last night I rented a flat and got to share several songs from my 2nd record with 25 fans in London,” Maren revealed on social media early Wednesday morning. “We got to talk about my inspiration behind each song, their favorites, + eat hot chicken. Suffice it to say, we’re all stoked,” she added.
Several hours later, Maren shared a video recap of the event, though you don’t get to hear any of the new music.
“I feel relief,” Maren says, “because I have already obviously made up my mind about all these songs — and that took enough. And it took even longer to record them and mix them.”
“But to have innocent ears in complete purity listen to them,” she adds, “without any politics involved or publishers or whatever, that was like the first time just pure fans were listening to those songs.”
So far, we don’t know when the rest of the world will get to hear the album that’s presently being referred to as MM2.
“It’s been unleashed!” Maren exclaims at the end of video.
Earlier, Maren posted that as “Rich” nears #1 on the country chart, that clears the way for the official beginning of the MM2 era.
