ABC/Image Group LAReba McEntire was one of several artists celebrated at the 41st Kennedy Center Honors Sunday night. The country legend was honored alongside singer and entertainer Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, and saxophone player Wayne Shorter.
Each honoree was celebrated with performances by artists including Lady Antebellum, Brooks & Dunn, and pop stars Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and Cyndi Lauper, as well as vocalists St. Vincent, Paul Simon and Kristin Chenoweth.
Billboard reports that when Kelly honored Reba, the pop singer — who’s married to Reba’s stepson, Brandon Blackstock — thanked Reba for “being a rad grandma to our kids.” She then performed a cover of Reba’s classic hit, “Fancy.”
Brooks & Dunn also paid tribute to the singer with a performance of her 1994 hit, “Why Haven’t I Heard From You.” According to Billboard, they took some time to give away some of Reba’s secrets ahead of their performance.
“She’s really a brunette,” Kix Brooks said of Reba’s famous red locks. “If she were a blonde it would be easier to dye, but being a brunette, she’s gotta go bleach first. It’s a big deal.”
Little Big Town were also on hand to honor Cher with a medley of “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves,” “I Found Someone,” and “Baby Don’t Go.”
Kennedy Center Honors will air on CBS as a two-hour special on December 26.
