Morgan Wallen to play 16th Annual “WWE Tribute to the Troops”

John ShearerMorgan Wallen has been announced as one of the performers for the upcoming 16th Annual WWE Tribute to the Troops television special. The two-hour broadcast from Fort Hood, Texas, will air on December 20 at 9/8C on USA Network.

“This is my first time doing anything with WWE,” Morgan says in a video interview with WWE Monday Night RAW. “My dad was in the Marine Corps so it’s cool for me to get to be doing this. I’m really excited about it.”

WWE began Tribute to the Troops in 2003 to honor servicemen and women and their families. Jon Stewart will also appear on the show. Previous performers include Florida Georgia Line.

Morgan admits that he’s a big Ric Flair fan — he even dressed up as him one year for Halloween — but the singer doesn’t watch much WWE these days, thanks to his rigorous touring schedule. He kicks off his 2019 If I Know Me Tour on January 4.
