Andy Sapp/Southern ReelZac Brown‘s third annual Evening to Remember benefit event November 30 in Atlanta raised more than two million bucks for his non-profit, Camp Southern Ground.
Even more impressive is that the money was raised from a gathering of fewer than 200 people.
“This event is always special because we get to share the success of Camp Southern Ground with our Atlanta community,” the Zac Brown Band frontman says in a statement. “This isn’t my camp, this is everyone’s camp and each year the guests that join us, whether they’ve supported from the start or this is their first evening with us, leave at the end of the night knowing they’re helping to create a lasting legacy.”
Camp Southern Ground serves children from the age of 7 to 17 from all socioeconomic backgrounds, races, religions and disabilities. Also welcome are kids with learning and attention issues, social or emotional challenges, and those with family members serving in the military.
The money raised at the annual Evening to Remember event goes to support the continued growth of the camp and its programming.
