ABC/Image Group LAFor Lauren Alaina, 2018 was a year filled with so many good things, it’s hard for her to pick a favorite, at least professionally.
On the personal side, the Peach State native admits saying yes to her longtime boyfriend Alex Hopkins is at the top of the list.
“I got engaged. That was a pretty big highlight,” she tells ABC Radio. “I played the Braves stadium. And I’m from Georgia, so I grew up a Braves fan, and I got engaged that day, so it was like the most epic day ever.”
Lauren will have another “epic day” on Monday, as she plays Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. She’s set to do her new single, “Ladies in the ’90s,” as well as her #1 duet with Kane Brown, “What Ifs.”
“Our song went four times platinum, so that’s kind of crazy,” Lauren adds, as she continues her rundown of 2018’s memorable moments. “I bought a house.”
“I was nominated for — oh, I won! — I won. What am I talking about?” she laughs. “I won an ACM for New Female Vocalist of the Year, and I was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the CMAs. But it’s just a good year altogether.”
Kelsea Ballerini joins Lauren and Kane on the West Coast portion of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, while Maren Morris and Florida Georgia Line will be live from Allstate Fan Fest in New Orleans. Dan + Shay will be in the center of the action at the ball drop in Times Square in New York City. The December 31 tradition starts at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
