ABC/Image Group LAMitchell Tenpenny’s first album, Telling All My Secrets, sold 20,000 units in its first week of release, making it the most successful debut by a new country artist in 2018.
“What an incredible gift I received on Christmas Eve,” Mitchell recalls. “I was so pleasantly surprised with the news that Telling All My Secrets debuted on the Billboard album chart in such a huge way!”
The record entered at #5 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, just behind Christmas collections by Burl Ives, Elvis Presley, and Gene Autry. Mitchell’s label mate, Luke Combs, held on to the top spot with his debut, This One’s for You.
The Nashville native is set to sing his first #1, “Drunk Me,” Tuesday during the 9 a.m. hour of NBC’s Today show.
