ABC RadioLoretta Lynn will celebrate her birthday this April with an all-star concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Garth Brooks helped the living legend announce the special event Monday morning from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Despite her many accomplishments, Loretta revealed that she’s never actually celebrated her birthday with any kind of bash or event.
“I am so excited to celebrate my 87th birthday with all my friends,” she said in a statement. “This is the first time I’ve ever had a birthday party!”
“My birthday wish came true,” she added. “The only other wish I have is that Keith Urban jumps out of my birthday cake!”
Keith will indeed be a part of the April 1 concert, along with Garth, Trisha Yearwood, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies, Darius Rucker, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Kacey Musgraves and more. Loretta’s actual birthday is a couple weeks later on April 14.
Tickets go on sale Friday, with proceeds being split between the Opry Trust Fund and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
