ABC/Image Group LACarrie Underwood is now the proud mother of two boys, after the arrival of Jacob Bryan Fisher on Monday, as she revealed Wednesday on Instagram.
Several hours later, Carrie’s husband Mike Fisher shared a new photo of Jacob, along with his thoughts.
“The last few years has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet!” he reflected. “We didn’t know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect!”
“He is good all the time even in the difficult times that are hard to understand,” he closed. Last fall, Carrie revealed she’d suffered three miscarriages over the past two years before she became pregnant with Jacob.
Next up for Carrie — after some time with her newborn — she’ll hit the road for her Cry Pretty Tour on May 1.
“It’s just all gonna happen at once,” she smiles. “I went on tour with Isaiah when he was eleven months old. He was right there when we had our first show.”
“It was really hard because… obviously I have help. When I’m out there, somebody’s gotta watch my kid when I’m onstage,” Carrie explains. “But I mean I’m really bad at utilizing that, which I think is good too, you know. Nobody ever got up with my kid in the middle of the night. That was me, and I’m proud of that.”
The “Love Wins” hitmaker says she can think of one thing that would make this tour easier.
“Everybody pray that my kid, Isaiah, is willing to sleep in a bunk [on the bus],” Carrie laughs. “Oh please! Bottom bunk, please sleep in a bunk! ‘Cause he kicks me, and it’s terrible.”
