ABC/Image Group LACody Johnson can now say there Ain’t Nothin’ to It when it comes to having a #1 album.
This week, his major label debut, titled Ain’t Nothin’ to It, arrives at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
The 15-track collection sold 35,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 23,000 of those being traditional album sales. It was enough to land the project at #9 on the all-genre Billboard 200 as well.
“I’ve worked for this my whole life,” the Huntsville, Texas native tells Billboard. “I can’t put into words what this means for me, my family, my band, my management, and our fans.”
“This is the culmination of ten years of working without failure, no matter the obstacles,” he adds. “I am very honored.”
This may be Cody’s first chart-topper, but he’s no stranger to the top ten. In 2016, he took his independent album, Gotta Be Me, to #2, and in 2014, Cowboy Like Me hit #7.
Cody’s first major label single is also turning into his first nationwide hit. “On My Way to You” breaks into the top twenty this week.
