Shore Fire Media/Jimmy FontaineDave Grohl made a surprise appearance during Zac Brown Band‘s show Thursday night in Atlanta. The Foo Fighters frontman joined ZBB for a performance of the Metallica classic “Enter Sandman.”
Grohl handled the lead vocals and hype-man duties while Zac Brown and company delivered a satisfyingly heavy rendition of the iconic metal hit. You can watch fan-filmed footage of the performance now on YouTube.
Zac Brown Band does have some experience working with grunge legends: The group teamed up with the late Chris Cornell in 2015 for the song “Heavy Is the Head.”
As for why Grohl was in Atlanta, he and Foo Fighters are headlining the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night concert this Saturday, in advance of Super Bowl Sunday. The show will stream live online via Twitter starting at 11 p.m. ET.
