“There Was This Girl”: Newcomer Riley Green admits there are stories he can’t tell and stories he shouldn’t have heard

BMLGNewcomer Riley Green is enjoying the biggest success of his career so far, as his debut single, “There Was This Girl,” breaks into the top ten this week.

Now that the Alabama native has his first bona fide hit, fans are not only singing along in concert, they’re also sharing the tales of the crazy things THEY did because “There Was This Girl.”

“There’s a lot of ‘There Was This Girl’ stories that I can’t tell,” Riley jokes. “And I’ve probably heard some that I shouldn’t hear from fans.”

“But it’s gotta be something that every guy goes through at some point in time in their life, doing something dumb to try to impress somebody they had a crush on,” he adds.

“That’s a relatable title to me, and it’s a relatable idea, and it just seems like a lot of folks grew up the same way I did.”

For now, you can find “There Was This Girl” on Riley’s debut EP, In a Truck Right Now, ahead of the release of his forthcoming full-length debut. Later this year, he’ll open Brad Paisley‘s 2019 World Tour with Chris Lane.
