ABC/Image Group LAFaith Hill’s father, Ted Perry, passed away last week at the age of 88, her husband Tim McGraw revealed Tuesday morning on his socials.
“He was the sweetest, kindest most gentle man I’ve ever known,” Tim said in his tribute. “No man in my life has ever made such an impact on me as to how to be a human, a father and a friend. I’ll never, in 10 lifetimes, be able to live up to his example, but man, he has set a mark that all of us should strive for.”
Ted Perry and his wife Edna adopted Faith as an infant in Mississippi. Faith’s mother died in 2016.
Tim’s remembrance was accompanied by a short video of Faith with her dad and family, set to The Judds’ classic, “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days).”
“His legacy will live on through the 3 beautiful souls he raised, Faith and her brothers, Steve and Wesley…” Tim continued. “I’m sure a day will not pass for the rest of my life, that he will not show up in my thoughts. We all love you G Pa.”
So far, Faith has not commented publicly on her father’s death, though Tim’s video does end with her thoughts on the man who raised her.
“Anyone who has ever met my dad will tell you he is one of the greatest human beings on the planet,” Faith says. “He is so innocent.”
