BBR It’s been a life-changing year for newcomer Jimmie Allen. Twelve months ago, his debut single, “Best Shot,” was released, and it went on to finish 2018 as his very first number one.
Then, Wednesday morning, the Delaware native found out he’s up for an Academy of Country Music Award.
“Last year I watched the ACM Awards from the nose bleeds section wearing a suit I couldn’t afford,” Jimmie revealed on Twitter. “This year I’m nominated alongside some of my favorite artists for New Male Artist of The Year.”
“Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me,” he added. “I appreciate you so much.”
Jimmie is vying for the New Male trophy against Luke Combs, Jordan Davis, Michael Ray, and Mitchell Tenpenny.
The second single from his Mercury Lane album, the track “Make Me Want To,” is currently climbing the country chart.
