It’s the gospel truth: Rascal Flatts to be honored by GMA for humanitarian work

ABC/Image Group LAThe Gospel Music Association will pay tribute to Rascal Flatts this spring during its 6th Annual GMA Honors and Hall of Fame Ceremony in Nashville.

The award-winning trio will be celebrated for their “significant contributions to the world through their humanitarian efforts,” particularly for their work over the past thirteen years to help Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

All in all, they’ve given more than $4 million to the Music City hospital, who renamed its Pediatric Surgery Center after them.

The event will take place Wednesday, May 8 at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University.

Jay DeMarcus in particular has strong ties to gospel, having been nominated for the GMA Dove Award multiple times as a producer, and winning in 2017 for his work with Reba McEntire. Last year, he formed his own Christian label, Red Street Records.
