ABC/Image Group LAJust like Cyndi Lauper sang in the eighties, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” — and that was certainly the case Wednesday during the first show of Kacey Musgraves‘ four-night stand at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.
Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams made a surprise appearance during the concert, joining the Golden Hour Grammy-winner to sing Lauper’s signature song.
The Music-City-based rock band retweeted a fan-shot video of Kacey and Hayley’s take on “Girls…,” adding “Big yeehaw to our friend @KaceyMusgraves for a killer show in Nashville last night.”
Kacey’s Oh, What a World: Tour continues at the Ryman — potentially with more special guests, as is the Nashville tradition — through Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Kacey has her biggest hit at country radio in the past five years with “Rainbow.” It’s already at #38 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart, barely three weeks after being released in conjunction with her Grammy triumphs.
