“Feels Like a Party,” the latest top-thirty single from LOCASH, is on track to join the duo’s most-loved hits, judging from the impact it’s having on Chris Lucas‘ eight-year-old son, Caden.
“His favorite, obviously, has always been ‘I Love This Life,'” the LOCASH singer says of the gold-certified, #2 hit from 2015.
“He puts Alexa on and gets in the shower and I hear him singing,” Chris continues. “He’s singing ‘Feels Like a Party’ [at the] top of his lungs. And I come in, he’s like, ‘Dad, I think “Feels Like a Party,” I like it better than “I Love This Life.”‘
“And I was like, ‘Really?’ You know, this is an eight-year-old, where’s he’s not scared to tell me, ‘Dad, this sucks.’ So that meant a lot.”
Meanwhile, Preston Brust‘s three-year-old, Love Lily, is gravitating toward another song on their new album.
“My wife sent a little video to me on the road the other day,” he recalls. “And my daughter was standing in the kitchen. She thought she was alone, and she was listening to ‘Kiss a Girl Goodnight.’ She was just swaying back and forth, and you couldn’t see her face.”
“But it was on that third verse where you’re kissing a little girl goodnight,” Preston explains. “And it brought tears to my eyes, just watching those ten seconds of her just kinda swaying back and forth to the music, and just really listening.”
“And that blows my mind,” says Preston, “that our kids are hearing our voices. My daughter’s like, ‘Hey Dada, play some LOCASH.'”
“I’m like, ‘Excuse me. You know who we are?'” he laughs.
Brothers, the new album from LOCASH, comes out March 29.
