This weekend, practically every country star you can imagine is headed to Europe to play the annual Country to Country Festival in London, Dublin, Glasgow and Berlin.
It’s a return trip for Chase Rice and Jimmie Allen, who were both in the United Kingdom in October for Chase’s Lambs & Lions UK Tour.
Chase recalls seeing Jimmie play as his first #1, “Best Shot,” was taking off.
“I was backstage at the London show, and I’m sitting there listening to this crowd,” Chase tells ABC Radio. “He’d never been there before. All of the sudden, the crowd is just singing every word, and he stopped singing. And that’s when I really noticed it.”
“I was like, ‘My God!’ That’s the U.K. for you,” he continues. “Good for him. It’s cool to see that, especially for a first time. That’s the way it was for me. For him to do that the first time over there is impressive.”
Chase and Jimmie even got to do a little sightseeing while they were in the U.K.
“He’s on the same label as me, he’s a good dude,” Chase says of Jimmie. “We had a blast over there. We did a Harry Potter tour, over in Edinburgh, because that’s where [J.K. Rowling] came up with all the books.”
“We left the tour halfway through,” Chase admits. “Jimmie stayed the whole way. He’s a big, big fan. I’ve seen the movies once and that was enough for me. It’s a good series, though. It wasn’t my cup of tea. But it was just awesome to be over there in general.”
Chase’s current hit, “Eyes on You,” is now in country’s top fifteen, as Jimmie’s second single, “Make Me Want To,” climbs the chart.
