ABC/Image Group LACalifornia native Devin Dawson will do a six-date headlining trek around his home state starting next month to help those affected by the recent wildfires.
The name of the California Smoke tour actually comes from a lyric in Devin’s latest single, “Dark Horse.”
“I don’t get to visit my family who still live there as often as I’d like,” the Orangeville native says, “much less have an opportunity to play multiple shows throughout the state.”
“The fact that all the proceeds from these shows will also go toward helping people affected by the California wildfires makes it that much more special to me,” he adds.
All the money raised will go to the California Fire Foundation.
“We chose the California Fire Foundation because their outreach covers entire communities affected by these fires,” Devin explains, “including firefighters and their families, offering both emotional and financial support.”
“I’m so excited to get this tour started and give back to my home state in a more personal way,” he continues. “Hopefully it brings everyone a little joy and happiness, at least while the music is playing.”
Devin’s experiencing his own joy and happiness these days: He just got engaged to longtime girlfriend Leah Sykes over the weekend.
