ABC RadioClad in a short, sparkling silver ensemble from head to toe, Maren Morris commanded a sold-out crowd at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium for the second show on GIRL: The World Tour.
Starting with her current hit — also titled “GIRL” — Maren covered the entirety of her sophomore album, as well as hits like “”80’s Mercedes,” “I Could Use a Love Song,” and “Rich” — and brought on plenty of special guests, too.
Brandi Carlile appeared to recreate “Common,” the pair’s duet from GIRL, while opener Cassadee Pope subbed for Brothers Osborne on “All My Favorite People.”
The biggest surprise of the night came when Maren brought out Miranda Lambert and songwriter Natalie Hemby to do “Virginia Blue Bell” as a trio. After that track from Miranda’s Revolution album, the threesome tackled “I Wish I Was,” the song that inspired the title of Maren’s debut album, Hero.
As the night came to a close, all of Maren’s special guests re-appeared for a rendition of her breakthrough hit, “My Church,” at the Mother Church of Country Music.
The Texas native closed out her triumphant Ryman debut by doing her pop smash, “The Middle.”
