ABC/Randy HolmesGarth Brooks wore a custom-made Arizona Cardinals jersey Saturday night as he played State Farm Stadium near Phoenix.
During the show, the man whose number he’d been wearing — #11 wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald — came onstage to present him with a shirt of his own, according to the Arizona Republic.
This time, the number on the back was 1, signifying that Garth had not only broken the record for attendance at the venue, but for any concert ever in the state of Arizona, selling nearly 78,000 tickets for the night.
As for the show itself, the weather was pleasant enough they were able to open the stadium’s roof, as Garth delivered the set fans demand: his much-loved classics, covers, and a preview of his new album, which will be called Fun.
In addition to his new opener “The Road I’m On” and his top ten hit, “All Day Long,” fans can access two more new tracks via Amazon: his current single, “Stronger Than Me” and a rough mix of the new track “Courage of Love.”
According to the Republic, we can expect Fun to be released in full sometime in June.
