Chris Young to go Fishin’ in the Park to fight cancer this summer

RCA NashvilleThis summer, Chris Young will be throwing a line in the water to help find a cure for cancer.

The “Raised on Country” hitmaker will host the 3rd Annual Th3 Legends Cast for a Cure Big Bass Tournament on Saturday, June 1. The fundraiser will take place in Sanders Ferry Park on Old Hickory Lake, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, which is just north of Nashville.

The famed anglers known as Th3 Legends will be there as well: Bill DanceJimmy Houston, and Roland Martin.

For Chris, it’s a cause that’s personal.

“My dad fought cancer and won,” he reveals. “I can’t think of any better way to give back to an organization that helps find cures for cancer than to spend the day sitting in a boat fishing with my old man.”

The event benefits the T.J. Martell Foundation, and has raised more than $64,000 for the cause so far.

Even if you don’t want to fish, you can enjoy the free Party in the Park, which takes place simultaneously. You can find out more at CastForACure.org.
