Trae Patton/NBCKelsea Ballerini may have wrapped up her opening spot on Kelly Clarkson’s Meaning of Life Tour this past weekend, but her love for the original American Idol goes on.
Tuesday on Instagram, Kelsea posted her reflection on her time with Kelly.
“The greatest gift as an opening act is having a front row seat to watch and learn how successful artists steer their ships,” the “Miss Me More” hitmaker begins.
“Anyone who knows me knows I have always been a Kelly super fan,” Kelsea continues, “but after watching her flawlessly navigate a major tour while taping The Voice and being a wife and momma while never missing a note or a beat AND being kind to everyone and making sure we were all taken care of gave me a whole new lens of respect and love for this woman.”
But that’s not all. Kelsea had even more love for Kelly in her post.
“And more than all of that, the biggest lesson and reminder from this tour is the beauty in authenticity,” she added. “Kelly is the most open, warm, NORMAL, and not scared to speak her mind kind of spirit. And in a society that’s filtered and tuned to perfection, she reminded me that what’s more likable than being perfect is being real.”
Kelsea balanced her serious post by adding a silly picture, where she’s laughing and Kelly’s making a face, as they share a snack.
“So here is us eating hot dogs,” she finished. “Love you @KellyClarkson.”
Kelsea and Kelly have spent a lot of time together lately, since Kelsea’s also advising Kelly’s team during the Battle Rounds on The Voice this season.
Next up for Kelsea, she kicks off her own Miss Me More Tour April 11 with Brett Young and newcomer Brandon Ratcliff.
