Academy of Country MusicThis Is Us star Chrissy Metz will make her live TV singing debut on the 2019 ACM Awards on Sunday.
Metz, who plays Kate Pearson in NBC’s acclaimed family drama, will perform during the broadcast alongside a team of female artists.
The actress, along with Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae and Mickey Guyton, will perform “I’m Standing With You,” a song recorded by Metz for the soundtrack of her new movie Breakthrough.
Based on a true story, the film stars Metz as Joyce Smith, a mother who relies on faith after her young son experiences a tragic accident. Breakthrough hits theaters on April 17.
Metz, Carrie, Lauren, Maddie & Tae and Mickey are all featured on the soundtrack to Breakthrough. It includes Carrie’s hit “Love Wins,” as well as Lauren’s “Breathe Again,” “People Need People” by Maddie & Tae and “Hold On” by Mickey.
Prior to finding fame in This Is Us, Metz sang in a band called Chrissy and The Vapors.
The ACM Awards air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday on CBS at 8 p.m.
