ABC/Image Group LALittle Big Town‘s video for their new single “The Daughters” relies on a variety of contemporary dancers to help tell the story.
Filmed inside a 71-year-old gymnasium in Portland, Tennessee, a team of graceful dancers perform around Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet as they deliver the powerful song, which is about the everyday struggles women go through in our society.
They sing, “I’ve heard of God the Son and God the Father/I’m still looking for a God for the daughters.”
Co-written by Fairchild, Sean McConnell and Ashley Ray, “The Daughters” is the first release from Little Big Town’s next album. The dance routine was created by Los Angeles-based choreographer Andrew Winghart, who’s worked with pop stars like Lorde in the past.
Little Big Town will perform during the 2019 ACM Awards, airing this Sunday, April 7, at 8PM on CBS.
