The release of Thomas Rhett‘s fourth album is still nearly two months away. But backstage at Sunday night’s ACM Awards in Las Vegas, the newly-crowned Male Artist of the Year teased what fans can expect, and explained the record’s title, Center Point Road.
“Center Point Road is the street that I grew up on twenty minutes north of Nashville in a town called Hendersonville,” TR says. “And so much of the songs on this album really were shaped from just past experiences of being in high school and in college and being young and successes and failures and all the firsts and all the disasters in your life. I think I got to pull a lot of inspiration from that.”
“So on this record,” Thomas continues, “I kind of went a little more rootsy, and just very, very nostalgic on this record. So I think people are gonna really enjoy it.”
The “Die a Happy Man” hitmaker also reached out to a handful of his famous friends to help him on the project.
“I have a couple of really cool collabs on there,” TR points out. “Little Big Town‘s on there. Kelsea Ballerini‘s on there. Jon Pardi‘s on there.”
The sixteen-song Center Point Road record will arrive in full on May 31. Meanwhile, you can check out Thomas Rhett’s new family-focused video for the album’s first hit, “Look What God Gave Her.” It co-stars his wife, Lauren, and their daughters, Willa and Ada.
