Tim McGraw will sing “Songs of America” on tour promoting new book

ABC/Image Group LATim McGraw is going a type of tour he’s never done before: a book tour, to support his forthcoming Songs of America collaboration with Pulitzer-Prize-winner Jon Meacham.

Tim will still be singing, though. Just as in the book, Meacham will provide historical context on songs that helped shape America, while Tim will focus on the musical perspective and perform.

The two will also discuss their friendship that developed as Tim — an avid reader of historical non-fiction — discovered Meacham’s books like Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush and Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power.

The tour kicks off June 10 in New York City, before Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music That Made a Nation comes out on June 11. Every ticket to the tour also includes a copy of the book.

Tickets go on sale Friday. To get pre-sale information, all you need to do is text “songsofamerica” to 615-205-5687.
