ABC/Image Group LAAs fans continue to watch for Cam’s long-awaited sophomore album, the “Burning House” hitmaker is giving them a little something to tide them over.
On Wednesday, the California native revealed her new collaboration with producer/DJ Diplo. “So Long” is the first release from his country project, titled Thomas Wesley. Diplo’s birth name is Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr.
Though Diplo’s known for working with megastars like Beyonce, Justin Bieber and Madonna and has done everything from pop to rock to hip-hop, this is his first foray into country.
He tells Variety the new music taps into his beginnings in Florida, Mississippi, and South Carolina. He’s also teasing potential songs with Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, and Zac Brown.
Meanwhile, Cam hints she’s “got some fun plans for [the] Stagecoach [festival] too,” where she and Diplo are both set to play this weekend.
“So Long” is available to stream or download now, or you can check out its lyric video on YouTube.
So far, there’s no word on Cam’s own new music. She hasn’t released a full album since her debut, Untamed, which came out in December of 2015.
