ABC/Image Group LADevin Dawson’s recent six-stop California Smoke Tour raised more than $12,000 for the California Fire Foundation.
It’s a cause that’s personal for the “All on Me” hitmaker, not only because he’s from the Golden State, but also because close family members are firefighters. His grandfather has 25 years of service as a fireman, while his uncle has 35.
“Having the opportunity to get back, and give back, to my home state in this way was very meaningful to me,” Devin reflects.
“Big props to my Dark Horse Family [fan club] members who, from all over the country, donated VIP experiences and tickets to folks affected by the wildfires so they could come to my show for free,” he adds. “It was awesome to support a shared cause, have a fun night and forget our troubles for a couple hours.”
Devin currently has a top-fifteen hit with “God’s Country,” the song he co-wrote and sings on with Blake Shelton.
In October, Devin’s set to marry his longtime girlfriend, Leah Sykes.
