ABC/Image Group LA This week, Morgan Wallen puts on his “Whiskey Glasses” to score his second number one in a row.
His first chart topper came in June of last year with “Up Down,” his collaboration with Florida Georgia Line. Later this month, he heads out on the Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour with the duo.
“I’m really excited…” Morgan tells ABC Radio. “Those guys have obviously been my friends for awhile. I really enjoy the vibe, the creativity that we kind of bring out in each other, and I’m looking forward to that probably the most.”
The East Tennessee native is also hoping to make some more music with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley on the road.
“Obviously the shows are gonna be insane,” he adds, “but I’m really looking forward to getting in the studio and writing with them guys and things like that.”
This isn’t the first time Morgan’s hit the road with FGL. In fact, they took him out two years ago when he was still relatively unknown.
“I went out with them in… 2017,” he recalls, “and I had like the first slot, opened for like fifteen minutes… And I didn’t really have anything going on, you know, not really.”
This time around, Morgan will be taking time to appreciate the progress he’s made.
“You know we’ve moved up to the [next spot in the lineup]… We’ve got longer to play now,” he explains. “I think we’re playing a lot of the same venues, so I’m gonna try to look back and be like, ‘Man, this is how far it’s come in that amount of time.'”
The Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour kicks off June 13 in Rogers, Arkansas, with Dan + Shay, HARDY, and Canaan Smith joining Morgan and FGL on the trek.
