ABC/Image Group LAThough Dan + Shay are still riding high on the success of “Tequila” and “Speechless,” they’re beginning to set their sights on new music.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the duo of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney revealed that while they’re still focused on the hit singles and other tracks from their self-titled 2018 album, they’re in the process of writing and recording new music.
“We still got a little bit of life left in this one,” Smyers says in reference to Dan + Shay. “And then we’ll be onto some new music. So we’re working hard.”
The singers admit that they were entrenched in a new song moments before their arrival at the 2019 CMT Music Awards in Nashville.
“We were literally working on it in the bus like 10 minutes ago,” Smyers continues. “They had to drag us out. We’re like, ‘No, we need to do this one more vocal!'”
Dan + Shay are hitting the road as an opening act this summer on Florida Georgia Line‘s Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour, launching on Thursday, June 13 in Rogers, AR.
