ABC/Image Group LA Kenny Chesney’s new song, “Tip of My Tongue,” was co-written by British pop superstar Ed Sheeran, along with Nashville hitmaker Ross Copperman.
“I’ve written so much with Ross, that’s always easy,” Kenny says of the collaboration. “He brought Ed in, and he is such a great writer.”
“The way creativity works in creative people is so different, but it’s always exciting,” Kenny explains. “As a co-write with a new writer, it’s one of the most fun sessions I’ve done in a long time. I get why people love working with [Ed].”
You’ll be able to hear “Tip of My Tongue” starting at 6 a.m. ET on Friday, July 12.
The song is the lead single from Kenny’s next album. He’s currently working on the follow-up to Songs for the Saints with longtime producer Buddy Cannon.
