ABC/Mark LevineIf you want to experience the funky, sexy, rock side of Chris Stapleton, just check out his new collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars.
“Blow” opens with a straight-ahead, hard-driving rock guitar, and lyrics that leave very little to the imagination. “Well jump back, talk to me woman/You make me want to make a baby,” pop superstar Sheeran sings in the first verse, just before Stapleton appears.
“Supernatural woman, supernatural freak/Don’t know what you’re doing/Got me feeling weak,” Chris sings. “Oh I wanna call you fever baby/You can set a fire on me/Hot damn, pop it like a pistol mama/You got me down on my knees begging please.”
Once Stapleton hits the chorus, things get even more explicit: “I’m coming, baby/I’m coming for you/Hey, locked/Loaded/Shoot my shot tonight/I’m coming, baby/I’m coming for you/Pull my trigger, let me blow your mind.”
From there, “Uptown Funk” hitmaker Mars takes over to close out the tune with Sheeran.
