Capitol NashvilleEven though Carrie Underwood is devoted to her workout routine and has a physique envied by many, she says you’ll never see her in a tiny bikini.
“I feel like with swimwear, growing up in my teenage years, early 20s, I couldn’t wear a triangle swimsuit,” she told People Tuesday at the launch of her new CALIA swimwear line in the Hamptons.
“I can’t do it, it’s not going to happen,” she adds. “It would never have happened.”
So for her new line of swimsuits, Carrie stuck to more “sporty” styles that are “pretty and functional.”
“I’ve had women come up to me and be like, ‘Thank you! I can take my teenage daughter and we can get things that are cute but also appropriate for her and for me’,” the “Southbound” hitmaker says.
“And I think of myself running after my crazy kids and being at hotel pools, wanting to be cute but also not wanting to worry about things,” she adds. “Everything stays where it’s supposed to!”
While Carrie herself prefers “being by the water or on the water, not so much in it,” she says her four-year-old Isaiah “is a fish” and “loves being in the water.”
You can find Carrie’s new CALIA swimwear — along with the rest of her athleisure line — at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
This Friday and Saturday, Carrie’s set to play two shows each night at the Grand Ole Opry, while she’s on a break from her Cry Pretty Tour. It resumes September 10 in San Diego.
