RCA Nashville It’s still three more months until Old Dominion’s third album comes out, but as promised, the CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year is keeping fans happy by putting out some preview tracks.
The latest is the uptempo, pop-influenced cut, “Never Be Sorry.”
The tune puts a happy spin on love gone wrong, as lead singer Matthew Ramsey explains: “‘Never Be Sorry’ is about that unfortunate realization when sometimes you’re in a relationship that just wasn’t what you thought it was and also wasn’t what it used to be.”
“It can be hard, sad, and frustrating, but [it’s] also important to remember that you loved that person and shouldn’t be apologetic for loving them,” he adds. “Maybe it didn’t work out, but like the song says, you cannot be sorry for falling in love with that person. Remembering those details, and the good parts that made the relationship unique and special, is what keeps it alive in some way, forever in your heart.”
“Never Be Sorry” is available to stream or download now, and you can check out its lyric video on YouTube as well.
Meanwhile, the album’s second single, “One Man Band,” has just broken into the top forty.
The full, self-titled Old Dominion album arrives October 25.
