ABC/Mark LevineTim McGraw’s just dropped a new song, and he’s hinting there’s more to come next year.
“This is just the start,” the superstar shared on his socials, teasing the new track “Way Down.” “Can’t wait for 2020.”
“Way Down” was co-produced by Tim and features vocals by its co-writer, Shy Carter. Previously, Shy’s had a hand in writing big hits like Sugarland’s “Stuck Like Glue” and Billy Currington’s “It Don’t Hurt Like It Used To,” as well as Tim and Faith Hill’s “Speak to a Girl.”
The rhythmic, funky, rap-influenced tune namechecks pretty much every Southern state you can think of, with a chorus that’s basically the words “way down” repeated over and over. Toward the end, Shy dives into a full-on rap breakdown.
“Way Down” is available to stream or download now. Meanwhile, the latest single from Tim’s forthcoming Arista Nashville debut, “Thought About You,” continues its climb in the top twenty.
