As “Simple” arrives at #1, FGL previews upcoming fourth album: “This is probably our strongest [one] to date”

BMLGThis week, Florida Georgia Line ascends to #1 with “Simple,” the lead single from their forthcoming fourth record.

While FGL hasn’t revealed exactly when their full project will be out, Tyler Hubbard tells People fans can expect “an album full of hits!”

“We’ve been working on this album for over a year now, so we’ve really, really been digging in and trying to pick the best songs possible,” he continues. “We’ve probably spent more time on this album than any album yet, so we truly feel like this is probably our strongest album to date. We’re just really excited for the world to hear it.”

Tyler and Brian Kelley have previously revealed they’ll have some special guests on the album, with three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean among them.

Tyler promises, “We’ve got some really cool collaborations, some really cool songs that are different for us that kind of continued to evolve, but also some songs that go back to the original FGL — some good ol’ country party songs — and just a lot of great content, messages and songs that we’ve poured our heart into.”

Blake Shelton serves up support for “Voice” contestants, and trash talk for his rival coaches: “They can kiss my butt”

Art Streiber/NBCIf you watch The Voice, you know pretty much anything is fair game when it comes to the coaches, especially with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

While Blake, Adam, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson may engage in some friendly rivalry with each other, they all agree it’s their job to be supportive when it comes to the contestants.

“You know,” Blake says, “I think the reason people keep coming back to The Voice season after season to watch is the only real competition — and the only really cutthroat things that are going on — are things that are happening between the coaches.”

In fact, no matter whose team a contestant is on, Blake says the coaches are always there to help.

“When it comes to the contestants, whether they’re on my team or somebody else’s team, that’s sacred up there,” he explains. “And we all pull for these contestants, no matter whose team they’re on. And we try to be as supportive as we can. Because that’s what it’s all about is that talent there up on the stage.”

Blake can’t resist the urge, however, to throw in one final dig at his rivals.

“Now as far as the other coaches go, you know, they can kiss my butt,” he adds. “I don’t care. And I think that’s what people like about the show.”

The blind auditions continue tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Heaven: Kane Brown weds fiancee Katelyn Jae

ABC/Image Group LAAt Tuesday night’s American Music Awards, Kane Brown told ABC Radio that he was getting married “this week.” Well, he wasn’t lying: He and girlfriend Katelyn Jae tied the knot on Friday, according to People magazine.

Kane and Katelyn, who got engaged last year, got married at Mint Springs Farm in Franklin, Tennessee in front of about 200 friends and family.  Speaking to People, the couple said, “We wanted something here in Nashville and loved the idea of having it at home and not traveling since we are on the road so much.”

Kane wore a Lanvin suit, while Katelyn, a music management student and singer, opted for a simple, classic gown.  Instead of writing their own vows, the two said, “We decided to exchange letters to each other earlier in the day and keep the actual vows a little more traditional.”

On Saturday, according to People, Kane posted a photo on his Instagram story showing a new tattoo on his hand: the word “Katelyn,” with the bottom of the “y” turned into the infinity symbol.

The couple is reportedly heading off to a honeymoon at an undisclosed location, but we’re sure Kane will be back on the scene in time for the November 9 release of his sophomore album, Experiment.

Listen now: Pistol Annies are on fire with “Stop Drop and Roll One”

RCA NashvilleAn especially fruitful songwriting session inspired the latest track released from Pistol Annies’ new album, Interstate Gospel, which comes out November 2.

“We’d just finished a song out at the farm,” Ashley Monroe recalls, “and Miranda [Lambert] said, ‘Girls, we’re on fire I think…’ and then she said, ‘So stop, drop and roll one!’”

That’s exactly how the chorus of “Stop Drop and Roll One” begins, with Ashley and Miranda trading lines and harmonizing with bandmate Angaleena Presley. It’s the third preview track from the trio’s third album, following the earlier releases “Best Years of My Life” and “Got My Name Changed Back.”

Both Pistol Annies’ October 25 show at the Ryman in Nashville and their release day concert at The Town Hall in New York City sold out within minutes. They’ll also do a November 7 performance at The Novo in Los Angeles.
