It’s been quite awhile since we’ve heard new music from Miranda Lambert, but the reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year revealed that’s a problem she plans to remedy very soon.
“I really have worked since last summer, just writing and recording,” Miranda reveals. “No one’s more excited than me to have something new and kinda like show off what I’ve been doing. I know I’ve kind of been not around — but I’ve been around, you know? I’m getting really close, hopefully mid-summer to have some music people can hear.”
If you’ve wondered if it’s Miranda’s surprise divorce from Blake Shelton last July that’s sidelined her music, it appears that’s not the case. The “House that Built Me” hitmaker says the move from Oklahoma to Music City has actually increased her musical output — we just haven’t heard the results yet.
“You know, it’s been a really cool journey because I live in Nashville, for the last year almost now. And, you know, I’ve been able to write so much more than I had before, just not being on the road constantly,” says Miranda. “And moving from Oklahoma, all my friends here are songwriters. So, we’re either hanging out and accidentally wrote a song or we had it set up, so I probably wrote like five days a week for five months straight. It was great! I feel like I really grew as a songwriter. So, yes! It’s on the way. Soon, soon!”
