Garth Brooks Is the Country King When It Comes to Cash, According to "Forbes" Magazine

Mark TuckerIf you ever find yourself wondering, “Who’s the richest person in country music?” Forbes just happens to have the answer. It’s no surprise the answer is Garth Brooks, who raked in a cool $70 million by the magazine’s figures, largely via his world tour with wife Trisha Yearwood. What does raise an eyebrow or two, however, is that Garth happens to have dropped on the “Celebrity 100” ranking, from #6 last year, to #15 in 2016.

Kenny Chesney follows behind in 26th place, tallying $56 million before taxes. Next up are the Entertainers of the Year. CMA winner Luke Bryan leads at #37 with $53 million, while ACM favorite Jason Aldean lands at #75 with $36.5 million. Perpetual favorite Toby Keith hangs in at 47th place, with a $47.5 million payday.

Who’s number one on the overall list, you might wonder? Well, that happens to be none other than country alum Taylor Swift, who cashed checks to the tune of $170 million.
